Just finished chest/back/ab ripper x Day 1

OMG, I now know now how out of shape I am.... that about killed me. Pull up I was aiming for 10 and pushups same thing, those were slightly decreasing half way through 1st phase. 2nd phase could barley get 2 ups and pushups. My body just gave up, I could not push it. But I was afraid to really push it cause I didn't want to hurt myself. But again, my body simply burned out. Did ok with the weights though. Ab ripper X was worse, started out good but totally fell apart about half way after fifer scissors, could barley get to 10 and mason twist's got to 14 before falling over in pain. Was this first workout ok or was I over doing it or not pushing enough? Again, I felt I wasn't pushing enough but my arms were just failing me on the pull-ups and pushups. I'm sure as I go on, it'll get better...hopefully. Anyway, day 1 complete. Boom-shakalakka!

Hey John,

I think those are pretty good numbers for your first day! Remember not to overdo it though, the first two weeks are tough and you'll need your strength because you dont get that many off days(once a week). For the first two weeks do 75-80% of your max so your body can get used to the workouts. You dont want to be sore and then be unable to complete workouts because of it.

I had the same push up numbers and pull up numbers as you when I first started.

The great thing is when you get stronger and stronger. It will come with time. Make sure to take your pre and post workout shakes!

The Chest and Back workout is about 53 minutes long. It is a really good upper body workout. It has several different push up moves.
