Eat Liver!
« on: October 09, 2012, 05:38:06 AM »
Why should you eat liver? It is ridiculously cheap, high in protein and one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet! You can buy a kilo of organic liver for a few dollars!

Admittedly, it isn't to everyone's taste but think about the nutrients it is providing. It's not so bad with onions and bacon.

Do you eat liver? Would you eat it knowing it is very good for you?

I'd eat liver I suppose but it definitely has a interesting taste. I used to enjoy eating liver and onions from this buffet line I used to go to :)

I used to refuse to eat it when I was a child, but now being much older, I think I wouldn't mind trying it again, especially since it's high in protein.  :D

Protein and a multitude of other nutrients. Think about it, the liver stores vitamin and nutrients, that's why liver is so dense in nutrients. In terms of nutrients there is no better value for money than liver.

I couldn't stand the idea or smell of liver as a child. Even as an adult the thought of it makes my stomach turn. Of course, I have stopped eating meat all together since I found that I can't digest it well.  If there was nothing else to eat in an emergency I guess I would eat it.

I can eat liver as long as it is well done, all the way through, with onions and a little gravy.

A few years ago I tried some liver that was cooked the way high priced chefs say it should be cooked. The outside was rather crispy but the inside was still shiny. Definitely not for me!

;D

I would not eat it. My grandmother is from Australia and had it a few times a week growing up. One of the diners in town serves it on their menu. She loves it. I don't even know how it would taste.

Why would you not eat it if you don't know how it tastes? Liver is an acquired taste but some people like it. It's nice served with bacon and a Marsala cream sauce, the sweetness of the wine combines well with the liver. Try it, you might even like it.

I couldn't eat liver, at all. It's just not something that I really care to do, it's not my cup of tea. I can see the health benefits, but gah... the taste...

Hello,
I eat leaver on every Sunday. It's my favorite in non-veg.
And leaver is good source of protein...
