TribeSigns Wireless Bluetooth Kitchen Scale

Product Review: TribeSigns Wireless Bluetooth Kitchen Scale

Company: Amazon via seller Gotobuy-USA (100% feedback rating)

Price Range:  $30

Who Would Buy This:

The type of person interested in purchasing TribeSigns Wireless Bluetooth Kitchen Scale would be someone who enjoys counting their calories and knowing exact amounts of calories, macronutrients and micronutrients. Also someone who is more technically inclined and able to use a bluetooth device (iOS/Android/) to make the DietScale app work properly with this product.

Pros:

  •  The TribeSigns Wireless Bluetooth Kitchen Scale has a nice sleek design that looks great on any counter.
  •  Accurately measures food in 5 different modes (g, oz, lb:oz, water (ml), water(cup),milk(ml) and milk(cup) by pressing the MODE button).
  •  Supports up to 11lbs/ 5kb in weight allowing you to measure and know the weight of a huge variety of items.
  •  Bluetooth Wireless App(DietScale) to download and use with this scale, allowing you to know exact break down of nutrients in any food item you wish.
  • 100% Satisfaction Guarantee

Cons:

  • The touch functions are overly sensitive
  • The DietScale app is poorly optimized (multiple bug issues I encountered which you can see in the video below)
  •  Requires 4 AAA batteries (not included)

Guarantee:
18 month warranty and Hassle Free, Premium Lifetime Replacement Guarantee!

Value for money?
At $30 roughly this is a premium product in the line of very basic kitchen scales. The highlights of this scale are the bluetooth features and ability to use the app wireless to get exact measurements and information on nutritional value of food. However the APP still needs a lot more work if it wants to compete or even be a replacement for users who already use other popular food tracking apps like MyFitnessPal/FatSecret/etc. If you are in love with the sleek design (white glass) then you might enjoy this value. Of course you will probably have the coolest “looking” Kitchen Scale on your street :) . For simplicity’s sake it’s a tad expensive.

Final thoughts and rating:

I was sent this product to review and am very thankful to be offered this opportunity. I tried out all the features and gave my honest opinion in the Youtube Video below that you can watch (Yes I know it’s quite long but there’s always much to explain and test!). For those limited on time skip ahead to the following times in the video.

07:18 (weighing an apple, trying app)
11:18 (Gatorade + creatine test)
14:54 (timed test & real talk)
20:05 (final thoughts and rating)

For those unable to watch the video I would give this TribeSigns Wireless Bluetooth Kitchen Scale a 4 out of 5 stars. The reason I take one star off is because the DietScale app needs to be reconfigured and the bugs need to be fixed. If you charge $20-25 for this scale, remove bluetooth features (pointless with the current version of app in my opinion), include the 4 AAA batteries and fix the overly sensitive buttons then I would rate this 5 out of 5. Alas we can’t have everything so for what it’s worth this product does the job of simply being a kitchen scale and also a few more things :)

super gains pack unboxing review

I was contacted by the company Super Gains Pack to do a review for them for their new monthly fitness box which includes a variety of supplements. There is 3 different versions you can choose to go with ranging from $12-28 in price(USA residents only). Below is the different options and I was sent the Super Gains Pack ($28 option) to review in the video you’ll find attached below. Even though this was sent to me for review I was still honest in my experience with the product and service. The great thing about these types of monthly subscription services is that you can get lots of new supplements to try. Some that you’ve never heard of but then fall in love with. Surprisingly there was 2 really good snacks in this box that I never tried before and after trying them from the Super Gains Pack I might purchase the full version of them later :) .

What was inside for my box:

  • 19-20 random supplements (endurance gels/protein bar/honey snack treat/pre workouts/whey protein/thermogenics/etc)
  • 1 (10 serving) trial size of Beast Creature
  • 1 (10 serving) trial size of Beast Pre Workout
  • SGP Shaker Bottle
  • SGP Sticker
  • SGP Informational pamphlet that included grocery list, food facts, and exercise to try.

Overall even though this $28 pack version is the most expensive it comes with the biggest savings I found. Based on the price per each serving and all the products included I averaged it to be a total of around $40-45 worth of product sent to you while paying $28. That leaves you with a good amount of savings, if of course you try to use all the supplements provided before the next month comes around. Sometimes you might get a product you wont like (thermogenics for me). In which case the savings are less but still decent. One cool feature about Super Gains Pack is that if you sign up for their monthly newsletter a full serving of product is given away each month to their members in a drawing most likely. You might win some free supplements which is always cool!

In the end  this new supplement subscription box company actually impressed with the box I was sent and their claims. If each months box is like the one I received for all customers then that is pretty awesome. If I was looking to spend an extra $28-30 per month I would definitely pick up and at least try out the Super Gains Pack box at least once. It’s always fun to try out new supplements and the anticipation is great when you notice a new box has arrived! Visit them at www.supergainspack.com for more info.

jacked pack july 2015

Hey all,

Been a while since a blog post but don’t worry more to come in time. Today I recorded a video of the July edition of Jacked Pack. Which is a monthly fitness subscription box. You pay $15 a month and get 5-10 supplement samples sent to you with a variety of types. You might get a pre workout, thermogenic, whey protein, protein bar or even a fitness related DVD! It’s a good idea and I enjoy looking forward to whats inside the box each month. Sometimes I get things I love and use all the samples in the box and other months I get something that doesn’t interest me very much and unfortunately I don’t use all of my samples I get. In this month’s box where is what we got:

Jacked Pack Review: July 2015

Whats Inside:

  • EVL Nutrition ENGN   (pre workout)
  • MHP Fit & Lean Power Pak Pudding (protein pudding cup vanilla)
  • Promax Lower Sugar (Honey Peanut) protein bar hype!
  • ProSupps Dr. Jekyll  (lesser version of mr hyde pre workout)
  • Body Fortress Super NOS Blast (pre workout)
  • Magnum Limitless Extreme Pre-Workout
  • 3 Mancakes  (protein pancakes)

Now I love pre workout supplements as much as the next guy but sometimes I get overloaded with these pre workout samples. Reason behind that is when I pick a pre workout I like I stick with it for a pretty long time if I still feel like I’m getting results. Recently I’ve switched over to Dyno Pre workout (used to be on C4 extreme by Cellucor) so while all these pre workout samples look great to me I probably wont try them until I run out of my full serving container of Dyno and waiting for the new order to arrive. From what I got this month all I’ve tried so far is the Promax protein bar which tasted pretty good. I’ll probably take the protein pudding cup after my workout and maybe even make a mancake later on. Now lets break down the cost/savings ratio:

This month box value – $18 (based on my own research)
Cost of Jacked Pack – $15 per month free shipping

Savings of $3 if you enjoy and use all the products provided in the box.
3 protein pancakes
1 pudding cup
4 pre workouts
1 protein bar

Not bad for this July 2015 edition of Jacked Pack. I would have liked more variety instead of 4 pre workouts but from what I hear there is special theme each month and August edition will be a full pre workout box… oh snap hype city for sure.

One step at a time,

Lloyd

Getting Fit With Krav Maga

Getting Fit With Krav Maga

Krav Maga is known as a mixed martial arts and self-defense system used by the Israeli Defense forces. It dates back to pre-World War II, to a young man who had studied martial arts. Needing an efficient way to defend himself, he began using his knowledge of martial arts to form a fighting style that efficiently disables and neutralizes a target.

While many people have heard of Krav Maga, they may not be aware that this is not only a fighting style, but also a great way to improve health and fitness. As a system that combines boxing, jiujitsu, judo ,and aikido, learning this fighting style uses all major muscle groups, toning the body to result in a muscular physique.

The reason why Krav Maga improves fitness lies in its basic style. It’s an aggressive and dynamic activity that involves both the body and mind. The short, high-intensity explosive movements build huge amounts of muscle force with regular training. In addition to building this force, the exercises develop strong pathways from the brain to muscle groups which help improve reflexes. Through these workouts, the short intense movements used help to elevate a person’s metabolic rate, burn fat, and build muscle. It combines with cardio exercise with strength training movements to provide a complete workout. Krav Maga sessions are also much more intense than other classes and people expend about 20-30% more energy than traditional workout sessions.

If you want to learn more about Krav Maga techniques and what they can do you for you, there are a few ways to get fit with this fighting style. One of great hands-on ways is to join a gym that teaches Krav Maga or take a class at a local martial arts center. The specialized instructor that you get through these classes is a great resource on how to learn Krav Maga safely. If you’re not interested in taking a class yet, there are instructional books and videos on the subject. Many of these resources will help to give you a basic overview of Krav Maga and help you get started. Online resources are another easy and highly recommended way to learn more about the martial arts. You can read instructions, interact with others who know Krav Maga and also watch instructional videos and tutorials on the subject of getting fit with krav maga.

One great online source is martialartslab.com. This online resource contains a huge amount of information about the different types of martial arts and can help you learn more as well as get started. Along with general information, there are guides to martial arts and training programs that can help you learn Kav Maga online. In addition to these training and information resources, there is also a blog which features articles focused on martial arts and new developments in this area.

With so many resources readily available, it’s easier than ever to get involved with martial arts. Not only is this a great way to learn some self-defense techniques, Krav Maga dramatically improves fitness through high intensity workouts that increase strength and tone muscle groups. For anyone who has both of these goals, consider taking up Krav Maga and start seeing noticeable results.

Top 5 Resistance Training Moves To Strengthen Your Upper Body

The gym can be a daunting place at times, especially for women that have never been before and feel they have to go just to lose a few kilos.

The word gym is usually closely followed by another word: commitment. But a lot of women simply don’t have the time to go on a regular basis because of real-life commitments such as work and children.

Not being able to hit the gym isn’t the end of the world, though! Resistance training is growing in popularity with Australian women and can be done by anyone, anywhere, at a time that suits them.

Resistance training is excellent for building strength and is widely regarded globally as having a huge range of health benefits including reducing the risks of cancers, enhancing flexibility, and more.

Resistance training also offers a lot of variety and helps keep things fresh for women that want a training routine suited to their lifestyle.

For those that want to get started straight away here are five excellent resistance training moves to tone the upper body and help strengthen core muscles:

1: Arm Raises

Arm raises are great to strengthen the shoulders and can be done with light weights or an exercise band. With feet shoulder-width apart keep the weight/band at your side and lift out until the arm is level with the shoulder. Hold for five seconds, lower, and repeat 10 times.

If your back begins to hurt or it aches when you lift then stop – you should be feeling a slight burn in your shoulders and arms, nothing more.

2: Bicep Curls

A great way to strengthen your arms is to do some bicep curls, again with a light weight or resistance band.

Sit or stand holding the weight just beyond shoulder width and raise it by bending the arms at the elbow, moving to the front of the shoulder. Lower to the starting position.

3: Tricep Extension

Don’t forget your triceps! The back of your arm can also be trained with light weights and a resistance band – again, if you feel any aches then stop and check your form.

Hold your weight and place your elbow close to your ear with the arm bent. Keeping as straight as possible extend your arm upward, keeping the elbow in the same position, until the arm is straight. Lower to the starting position and repeat.

4: Chest Press

Perfect for light weights, find a bench and lay on it. Holding the weights push them in front of you without locking your elbows and lower them to just above chest height. Hold for a couple of seconds and push out again, repeating 10-12 times. Push ups are also a great chest resistance exercise.

5: Seated Row

Time for the resistance band again! Sit down and put your feet shoulder width apart and bend your knees slightly. Put the middle of the band onto the arches of your feet and grab the handles (cross the band if it feels too long) and hold by your side.

Lean your torso back 45 degrees, squeeze your stomach, and curl the handles up to your shoulders. Hold at the top and repeat. Not only does this tone your abs but your triceps and biceps, too.

If you’d like to find out more about how resistance training can help to improve your fitness, build up your strength and tone your body, visit Curves Australia to find out more.

P90X3 Review: X3 Yoga

Today was my first time trying X3 yoga from P90x3 which is the 3rd installment in the P90 X series. The main selling point of P90x3 is the fact all the workouts are about 30 minutes max. I just recently started with P90x3 so I haven’t tried all the workouts yet. This was my first workout I did because it was a rest day from my typical weight lifting routine I do. I wanted to do a nice stretch but I figured why not try out the new x3 yoga since its only 30 minutes which is probably a perfect amount of time for me to feel stretched out and more flexible by the end of it.

p90x3 yoga review

I’ve done 4-5 full rounds of P90X classic so I know a lot about all the original Yoga X moves. Yoga X is a great workout DVD but it’s so long (1hr 35 minutes) that people get bored of it quickly, its very intense but can get old fast for some. After a few rounds of P90x classic i started to just do the first 45 minutes of yoga x and skip the rest it became more bearable but the pace was a bit slower.

With P90x2 I was looking forward to a faster routine because I heard it was only 60 minutes long and while I enjoyed P90X2 Yoga workout DVD it felt a but odd to me some of the moves. I only did about half a round of P90x2 because personally I wasn’t the biggest fan of how the workout DVDs were. In general I think P90x2 was a departure from what we learned to love in P90X classic and as such most people didnt really enjoy P90x2 as the first one.

Now doing X3 yoga today I envisioned classic P90X Yoga crammed together into 30 minutes with a much faster pace. I was pleasantly surprised to be pretty much spot on in my assumption! The 30 minute workout was intense but not overly difficulty like P90x1/x2. It was actually a bit easier but I was still soaked and dripping in sweat by the end of the 30 minutes. I will say however, that if you aren’t used to any of the yoga x moves then X3 yoga will definitely take some getting used to. The first few times you do it there will be a lot of pausing to learn the exercises but that’s OK!As always listen to your body and just show up :)

I remembered a lot of the moves from classic Yoga X and not that many from X2 yoga which is a good thing in my book :P . About halfway through the workout switches to balance postures and the last 5 minutes or so becomes very fast paced so be careful and take your time. The only problem I see with this workout is that if you are new to exercising and try to keep up with the pace you might fall and injure yourself. A lot of these exercises you should slowly go into them for example “plow” move. However in the video some of the people are rushing into these movements and if you try to do the same with new moves you might hit yourself. So just feel it out and listen to your body for each exercise!

As always just show up and do your best :) If your interested in purchasing P90X3 and having me as your coach feel free to use my link HERE

I tried several sample pre workouts a few weeks ago and I’ve had their empty packets on my desk here for a while! I wanted to give a real quick review on each of them. This will mostly just be based on flavour and effectiveness I had for my workout. I will leave it up to you to go to bodybuilding.com or related site and check their ingredient list to judge for yourself :) .

5 pre workout reviews in one

#1 Pre Workout N.O Fury ELITE Series from the makers of MuscleTech:

Well what can I say about this pre workout, it seems like a very generic  pwo and the serving size is pretty huge (28g) which leads me to believe its not very potent or concentrated. When I see pre workouts with less than 9g per serving I know its very concetrated. The flavor was alright but I really didnt feel much at all with this pre workout. 4/10

#2 Maniac! from AI Sports Nutrition/ Pink Lemonade: This was actually a really good pre workout for me because I actually felt something I could feel the beta alanine kicking in and I had a good amount of energy that lead me to have a nice workout. The flavor pink lemonade wasnt all that great but its okay because I’m looking for results not just a taste alone. 7/10

#3 VOLATILE from Formutech Nutrition: First off this was probably the best tasting of the 5 lot here Berry Eruption tasted great and also the serving size was small which is good to me. I got decent pumps and energy from this. 8/10

#4 Superdrive from Gaspari Nutrition: This is an interesting pre workout as the ingredient profile isn’t what you would usually find and the flavor of Strawberry Kiwi interested me at first but it became so sweet that It wasn’t very pleasant to drink it all. I didnt feel much kick from this pre workout either but I did have good pump at least and vascularity from my workout. 4/10

#5 Bitrate from one 10 nutrition: This was probably the smallest serving size of a pre workout i’ve ever had (5g per serving!) only downside is im not quite sure how much caffeine or beta alanine this product has its all behind a proprietary blend. I had orange flavor which was alright it wasn’t quite like an orange fanta drink it was more watered down version. 6/10

Just wanted to share my thoughts on these products as they were samples that was included in my monthly jacked in a box program. Which you can learn more about in the video below!

Hey guys! Here is some workout footage of my home workout. Todays exercises were some accessory work like biceps/deltoids etc. Overall felt pretty good but another thing is that I’ve decided to start using my weighted vest again. How long I’ll be using it for is unknown right now but I do know that it will help me promote better strength gains and ultimately hypertrophy which is what I want. I was able to do 3 sets of 10 reps+ with just my body weight and after adding my vest on my reps dropped by over 50% which is pretty huge but Its good in a sense but it allows me a lot of room for growth and progress.

Writing a post today to talk about C4 Extreme pre workout and their new flavor Sweet TEA! I was pretty excited to try it and my girlfriend actually the one who bought this. She was kind enough to give me a few scoops worth of C4 Extreme Sweet Tea so I could try it myself! I’ve tasted almost all the other flavors but with this being the newest I had to be the guy to find out if it was really good. Of course all this is personal opinion and it didn’t really turn out how I wanted it to but hey the flavor is still decent in my book.

C4 Extreme Sweet Tea: Honest Review

C4 Extreme Sweet Tea

EFFECTIVENESS – 8/10

As always the personal effectiveness level of this pre workout is high for me. Thats why C4 Extreme is my favorite pre workout, I usually mix 1-2 scoops depending on how I feel and workout about 20min-40m after. As you get more used to it the effects will start to feel like their fading or lessening. This could be a sign that you might want to try to stop using it for 1-2 weeks. It gives your body some time for the caffeine to lower back down to levels so you dont need more scoops to feel an effect.

FLAVOR – 5/10 (SWEET TEA)

Personally I wasnt a big fan of C4 Extreme Sweet Tea flavor. It might just be me but I’m a southern boy (born in Louisana) so I know the taste of real sweet tea. This just tasted very artifical and almost mango to me instead of sweet tea. I actually did a comparison of Litpon Instant Iced Tea vs C4 Extreme Sweet Tea flavors which you can find below to get my opinion of which is the best.

MIXABILITY – 9/10  SPOON USED ONLY

C4 Extreme always mixes great only reason I didn’t put a 10 is because nothing is really perfect as there is still some ingredients that are left at the bottom. Namely the creatine since that cant really be fully absorbed in water.

VALUE – 8/10

The price of C4 Extreme ranges from $30-$50 depending on the serving size you get(30 or 60). Overall it’s a good deal and if you choose the 60 serving using my promo code on the cellucor website you get 20% off and free shipping (this code only work in USA). So you might want to try it out for yourself to see if this would be your next favorite flavor.  Buy C4 Extreme Sweet Tea today with promo code: nuwave

As for me I’m still going to stick with Green Apple #1 in my book!

Thanks for reading or watching my review of C4 Extreme Sweet Tea!
