Hey guys!

So, lets talk about this week at work and overall an update from the last post! Well the past week at work was alright, I work tues-saturday so Friday & Saturday were really busy. I got yelled at by my boss, which in my job usually means I’m doing the right thing?! lol I guess so…. Anyway enough about work lets move onto workouts!

Starting Strength Session # 12 for February 12th, 2012.

1. Squats(Hack Squats)
3 sets of 5 reps @ 135lbs

-Overall this was a pretty hard exercise towards the end. Of course the warm up sets were kinda hard but the working sets were the killers. I only weight 148 lbs so this was tough but good at the same time! I had a mirror infront of me and focused on form.

2.  Overhead Press
3 sets of 5 reps @ 105lbs

-Pushing 105 lbs overhead is pretty tough, it feels great once you can do it though.  I spread out my reps here because this was tough. I knocked out the first 5 reps and then focused on making sure I didn’t drop the weight on my head for the others lol. Still though I managed to finish out all the reps!

3. Power Clean
5 sets of 3 reps @ 110lbs

-To be honest, I hate power cleans. Their hard and doing this many sets feels like its never ending. Often times I do 3 sets of 5 reps actually so it feels faster. I wasn’t able to do that today considering my energy was getting to the point of being spent at this point in the workout. I would do 1-2 reps, wait 10 seconds and repeat. I got to the point where I’m pshcying myself up and saying out loud how many reps I have left so I can keep pushing! Managed to finish all reps ! :)

Today was a good workout, felt the burn, pushed hard and am looking forward to workouts like these being a factor in gaining mass as an ectomorph. As long as I keep my caloric intake where it should be, get proper protein intakes and sleep. I feel like I’ll continue to get bigger and hopefully wont platue on the starting strength program anytime soon. Only time will tell, considering you increase weights by 5-10 lbs every workout. So I’ll talk to you guys soon! Keep doing your best!
